‘Lucid Dream’ is introducing Korea to the world through Interactive VR tour.

Lucid Dream (CEO Kim, Chang-dong) is a startup preparing an interactive VR tourism platform that introduces Korea’s major tourist attractions to domestic and foreign tourists through virtual reality.

It will be released early next year as an immersive social tourism service that has interactive live communication function in VR space.

Users will be provided with social live tourism services where they can participate in tours with multiple people to listen to explanations from docents and/or tour guides and ask questions.

It is planning to operate MR photo zone. The service allows users to take pictures with a nice background without having to visit a tourist spot. This is good news for those who cannot enjoy sightseeing in this COVID19 era.

In order to provide richer tourism services, Lucid Dream is producing contents of major museums in Korea, as well as Hallyu-related tourist attractions such as K-POP, K-DRAMA and K-MOVIE.

When the VR tourism platform is established in the future, Lucid Dream plans to cooperate with the Korea Tourism Organization and local governments to promote Korea’s beauty to the world.

Lucid Dream is also developing an “AR Pet Photo Studio.”

This app allows users to take pictures with emoticons on the face of pets that are automatically corrected by artificial intelligence (AI) vision technology.

As Lucid Dream succeeded in commercializing ‘VR Singing Room’ in 2018, it has already been recognized as a company that has both technology and contents producing capability.

VR Singing Room is a service for visitors to enjoy unique experiences such as singing in front of audiences or singing duet songs with singers in virtual spaces.

Kim said, “We will provide immersive experience to Hallyu fans around the world, domestic and foreign tourists preparing to visit Korea.  Our service will raise expectations for Korean tourism. We will grow into a platform company that combines contents and software.”

Meanwhile, in October last year, the government announced a strategy to promote immersive contents industries for leading the 5G era.

In addition, in the second half of this year, the government decided to invest 20 billion won by launching a project to create new markets for immersive contents that will support the production of services using immersive technologies.

Lucid Dream, which is expected to become promising player in the Immersive technology business, is also receiving strong help from the government.

The medium is the Gyeonggi Center for Creative Economy & Innovation.  Lucid Dream is receiving innovative growth and scale-up support from the center.
